Gnanasara+Thero+withdraws+fundamental+rights+petition

The fundamental rights petition filed by Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera requesting that the Supreme Court prevent any move to arrest the Thera was withdrawn this morning.

Permission to withdraw the petition was granted by the panel of 3 Supreme Court judges presided by Chief Justice Priyasad Depp who took it for consideration today.

The petition was filed on June 13th requesting the Supreme Court prevent his arrest until the attorney general issued legal instructions and police investigations were completed.

Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera who was produced before Courts yesterday for 3 different Cases, was released on bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Court, Colombo Additional Magistrate Court and Colombo Chief Magistrate Court.
