More than 900,000 people have been affected by the dry weather conditions prevailing in 13 districts.

Furthermore, it is reported that more than 700,000 farmers have been affected by the drought.

The disaster management center noted that Northern, Eastern and North Central provinces as well as Puttalam and Mannar districts are affected by the prevailing dry weather conditions.
