The Government Medical Officers Association says that if they do not receive a response from responsible officials to their demands within the course of tomorrow, a day’s token strike would be launched island wide on Tuesday from 8 am onwards.

GMOA secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge convening a media briefing in Colombo today noted that the decision was taken during the special executive committee meeting held yesterday.

The GMOA has proposed several demands including the revelation of information with regard to the attempted abduction of Medical Faculty Students' Action Committee Convener Ryan Jayalath in a white van and legal action to be sought against those responsible, and the release of university students who are currently incarcerated by tomorrow.
