Mother+and+son+electrocuted+in+pulathisigama

Pulathisigama police say a mother and her seven-year-old son died due to electrocution in Thalpotha in Lankapura today.

The deceased are residents in Bauddharthagama.

The name of the 34-year-old mother was Gayani Damayanthi and her son's name was Daham Nethsara.

The victims have visited a nearby house to help them as they were preparing lunch to be distributed among a group of students who were attending a tuition class in preparation for the grade 5 scholarship examination.

Then the child had touched a live wire that had fallen from a electricity transmission pole. The mother too got electrocuted while attempting to save the boy.

Investigations are conducted by Pulathisigama police.
