Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan has sent a letter to the UN Secretary General, citing issues such as land issue in the North and reconciliation.

Sources close to the Opposition Leader stated that copies of this letter had been sent to UN Office in Colombo and Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The copies of the letter had also been sent to all foreign missions including the embassy of the United States.
