Supplementary Medical Services Joint Trade Union Federation announced that they will strike in Southern Province tomorrow.
They are urging the authorities to address their issues relating to salaries and increments.
The Co-Convener of Supplementary Medical Services Joint Trade Union Federation, Ajith P. Thilakarathne speaking at a media briefing held in Colombo today (21), stated that employees in 10 services affiliated to the Supplementary Medical Service will join the strike.
He said the work in district, base and rural hospitals will be affected from 7am tomorrow during the 24-hour token strike.
He added the the emergency services will not be affected by the strike.
