Trade Union Joint Committee of the Inland Revenue Service has decided to take trade union actions against the proposed Inland Revenue Draft Bill to be presented to parliament on Friday (25).

Its Secretary H. A. L. Udayasiri stated that they decided to resort to a trade union action as the new draft bill contains sections with powers to control tax.

He said they will launch their strike on Thursday (24).

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance and Media Mangala Samaraweera, said that several sections of the draft bill were amended in line with a recent judgment issued by the Supreme Court.
