Department of Registration of Persons informs that the size of photographs submitted to obtain a National Identity Card will be revised with effect from 1st of September.

Accordingly, photographs with standards recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization should be produced to get a new NIC.

Relevant photographs should be obtained from franchised studios.

Commissioner General of the Department of Registration of Persons, P. Viyani Gunathilaka stated that the photograph size should be 35mmx45mm, according to the new regulation.
