A 17-year-old school girl has been murdered in the Ashokapura area in Giribawa, Galgamuwa today (23).
Our reporter said that the murder has taken place this morning.
Police suspect that she had been killed after sexually abusing her.
The girl’s mother has gone to a nearby house to work when the tragedy struck.
Later, a group of youth apprehended a person who was escaping onboard a bus towards Thambuththegama.
Police said the suspect is a 23-year-old, living in the area.
