A 14-year-old school girl died and her father sustained critical injuries when their motorcycle collided with a tipper in Galewela on the Kurunegala-Dambulla main road.

The accident occurred this afternoon (23).

Our correspondent said the motorcycle rammed into the tipper from behind while travelling towards Dambulla.

The teenage girl who was studying at a school for 'deaf and blind’, was returning home for school vacation.

Police have arrested the tipper driver.
