Police have raided a fake foreign currency printing place in Sithankerny, Jaffna. Two suspects were also apprehended.

The DIG Office in Jaffna has received the tip-off about this racket from an employee of a money exchange center.

Police said that a suspect has tried to change 10,100 Canadian Dollars from foreign money exchange center in Jaffna, however when the notes were checked it was found that the notes were fake.

The employee had then informed about this to the DIG Office.

Upon questioning, the suspect has said that a businessman in Sithankerny had given him the notes to be exchanged.

It was found that the two suspects had been engaging in this racket for some time. The suspects will be produced before courts tomorrow.

Investigations are conducted by a team led by Jaffna DIG, Palitha Fernando.
