The Central Provincial Education Secretary, who is accused of approving the participation of schoolchildren in a Guinness record attempt, has been promoted.
During a meeting in Kandy yesterday (25), the Central Province Governor, Niluka Ekanayake said that the Secretary should be held responsible for releasing the children for the act.
However, he was not present at the meeting.
When our news team contacted P. P. Wijeratne, the Education Secretary for the Central Province, he revealed that he is taking over duties as the Chief Secretary of the Uva Province today.
