The Lanka Teachers’ Union charges the circular for the enrolment of grade one students has being revised twice inconveniencing parents.

However, Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that the circular has not been revised.

According to the circular 22-2017, interviews for enrolment into grade one should have been concluded before 15th of September.

However, in a letter dated 19th of September, the Education Ministry Secretary had informed the principals that the circular should contain several revisions.

Secretary for the Lanka Teachers Union, Joseph Staling told our news team that interviews should be held again accordingly.
