Navy detects 153 kg of Kerala cannabis

Navy+detects+153+kg+of+Kerala+cannabis

Based on intelligence information received by the Navy, naval personnel onboard P 465 attached to the Northern Naval Command recovered 153.7 kg of Kerala cannabis floating in the Valvettithurai seas off Jaffna yesterday (11).

The detected 44 parcels containing the contraband. The street value of the haul was Rs. 20 million.

It is suspected that the consignment had been dumped at sea with the intention of smuggling into the country later.
