Players hand over letter seeking venue change….
SLC says happy with security arrangements……
Sri Lanka ODI skipper Upul Tharanga has pulled out of 3rd and final T20 to be played in Lahore, Pakistan.
The match is scheduled to be played on 29th of this month.
The team management, in all likelihood, is expected to name a new captain for the entire series.
A squad of 22 will be announced today and the list is expected to be pruned to 15 by October 20.
It remains to be seen if the selectors will name a full-strength squad or a second-string side as 40 contracted players had signed the letter, seeking the game to be shifted to another venue, citing security concerns.
Meanwhile, Upul Tharanga became the first Sri Lankan ODI batsman and 11th batsman in the one-day history to carry his bat through a complete inning with a fighting 144-ball 112 not out with 14 boundaries during yesterday's game.
It was his 15th ODI century.
The victory gives Pakistan a 2 nil lead in the five-match series while this becomes Sri Lanka's ninth defeat in a row.
