Former Chief Minister of North Central Province, S. M. Ranjith has filed a petition saying that his Fundamental Rights have been violated by postponing the Provincial Council election.

The official term of the North Central Provincial council came to an end on 01st of October.

He is requesting the court to issue an order to conduct the PC elections without delay.

Five persons including the Chairman of National Police Commission and Speaker have been mentioned as the respondents in this petition.
