Cannabis+trafficking+car+hit+former+Deputy+Minister%27s+vehicle

Former Minister Geethanjana Gunawardena had sustained minor injuries in a road accident occurred at Kosgama, Avissawella.

Following the accident, which took place at around 10.30 last night, the Deputy Minister was admitted to Avissawella Base Hospital.

However, when the other car was checked, police found 2 parcels of Kerala cannabis, weighing 4kg in it.

The occupants, 28 and 31 years-old residents of Thalduwa and Maligawatte were arrested.

They will be produced before Avissawella Magistrate.
