The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources is taking steps to introduce new laws against fishing vessels illegally entering Sri Lankan waters.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that this would also assist in taking action against local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing practices as well.
