Two+%27Awa+Group%27+members+arrested
Ministry of Law and Order says 2 members of 'Awa Group' were arrested at a roadblock in Jaffna by the STF personnel.
 
The arrest was made at Nirveli in Point Pedro.
 
The Ministry in a statement said that the STF personnel had arrested the suspects while they were travelling in a three-wheeler.
 
The STF personnel also found a knife from the possession of the suspects.
 
When the mobile phones of the suspects were checked there were photos them carrying swords.
 
Meanwhile, the alleged leader of 'Awa Group' Nisha alias Nisha Victor was sentenced to a rigorous imprisonment of 1 and 1/2 years.
 
He was found guilty of attempting escape from the prison officials.
 
Recently, while he was taken to Mallakam Magistrate Court, Victor had attempted to escape.
 
Later, he was arrested.
