Former Bangladesh head coach, Chandika Hathurusinghe arrived in Sri Lanka last afternoon (21).

Sources said thereafter he had a discussion with the Sri Lanka Cricket authorities at the SLC premises.

The discussion was centered on the head coach position of the Sri Lanka Cricket team.

However, international media reports indicate that Bangladesh is yet to release Hathurusinghe from their contract.

The former Sri Lankan opener was contracted by the BCB until 2019.

However, he had tendered his resignation to the BCB during the middle of the Bangladesh's Test series in South Africa in mid-October.

Sri Lanka is scheduled to fill the head coach post, which fell vacant with the departure of Graham Ford, by January 2018.
