A 38-year-old woman was shot and killed in Panikkiyawatte, Medagama in Moneragala, last night (12).
Police said that the incident had taken place at around 7.25 pm.
The assailants had also inflicted critical injuries to the mother of the deceased and she was admitted to Sirigala Hospital.
Medagama Police is conducting investigations to apprehend the suspects.
