Sri Lanka Customs said that a Kurunegala businessman was apprehended at the Bandaranaike International Airport while trying to smuggle in 23,889 sticks of a foreign cigarette brand.

The estimated value of the haul was Rs. 1.19 million.

The businessman was released after imposing a fine of Rs. 200,000.
