Police say traffic will be restricted from 11.30 am to 2 pm today (Jan. 24) on the road leading to Colombo from Bandaranaike International Airport and several other roads in the city.
 
Police said the restrictions are imposed to facilitate the arrival of Indonesian President and the departure of Singaporean PM.
 
The motorists are urged to use alternative roads during those time periods.
 
The Indonesian President is scheduled to arrive at around 11.30 am.
 
Thereon until 1 pm, the Katunayake Expressway from the Bandaranaike International Airport to Peliyagoda, Bandaranaike Roundabout, Orugodawatte, Dematagoda, Borella, DS Junction, Greenpath, Nelum Pokuna Junction, Library Roundabout, Liberty Roundabout and St. Michael Road up to Galle Road will be closed to facilitate his arrival.
 
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Singapore will arrive in Parliament at around 12 noon and to facilitate his movements, the vehicular traffic on the Galle Face Roundabout, Colpetty Junction, Dharmapala Mawatha, Pittala Junction, Library Junction, Ananda Kumaraswamy Mawatha, Horton Place, Ayurveda Junction and Parliament Road will be restricted.
 
The Singaporean PM will return to his hotel using the same route and during that time too the traffic will be restricted.
 
He will leave the island thereafter and the traffic will be restricted towards the BIA from 1 pm to 2 pm.
