The Sri Lanka Freedom Party believes that there will be a solution within the next 48 hours with regard to the problematic situation of the Government.

A senior member of the party speaking to our news team said that several discussions were held last night as well.

The spokesperson further revealed that if the Joint Opposition agrees to accept several ministerial portfolios, there is no issue in establishing a stable government.

The SLFP sources further said that the Prime Minister has agreed with the President to remain in the position under any condition.

Meanwhile, MP’s representing the Joint Opposition said that steps are being taken to show the majority in Parliament in order to establish a UPFA government.

They expressed these views during a meeting held at former President's official residence at Wijerama Mawatha yesterday.

Meanwhile, UNP backbench MPs held another meeting with the Prime Minister at Temple trees today (Feb. 17).

Also, the UNP Parliamentary group is scheduled to meet tomorrow morning at Siri Kotha Party headquarters under the patronage of Party General Secretary, Minister Kabir Hashim.

Meanwhile, UNF Parliamentary group will meet tomorrow at 7 pm at Temple Trees, the source said.
