A group of three-wheeler drivers are attempting to remove their meters saying that they have not received a solution to a request made to increase fares due to the rising costs of spare parts.
The National Three-Wheeler Association of Self-Employed Professionals said that its drivers will be removing their meters accordingly.
Speaking to our news team, its President, Sunil Jayawardena said that the Association will resort to this decision from the 26th this month.
However, the All Island Three-Wheel Drivers' and Owners' Association said that they are not in agreement with this decision.
Its President, Sudhil Jayaruk said that a proper mechanism to regulate three-wheeler meters is required.
