The Sri Lanka Cricket says that the team management has informed that Sri Lankan players have not engaged in any wrongdoing during the ongoing (2nd) Test match played between Sri Lanka and West Indies.

The team on the 3rd day of the match protested a decision taken by the umpires citing ‘’Changing the Condition of the Ball’’.

Because of that, the match was delayed by almost 2 hours to start.

The cricket board in a media release said that it advised the team to take the field to ensure the continuity of the match and wish to commend the decision taken by the team to continue with the game ‘under protest’ to ensure the upholding of the spirit of the game.

The SLC reiterates its commitment to adhering to the laws of the game and upholding the spirit of the game.

The SLC said that it stands firm in the commitment to protect the dignity of the national cricketers at all times.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka reached 34 for 1 at stumps on day 3 at Gros Islet yesterday,

Earlier, the Windies who resumed on 118 for 2 were bowled out for 300 runs.

They lost their last 6 wickets for 59 runs.

Devon Smith top scored with 61, Dowrich made 55.

Lahiru Kumara was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets.
