India - Sri Lanka joint venture to rescue Mattala

The Civil Aviation authorities of Sri Lanka and India held a discussion in Colombo last afternoon (Jul 04) to create a joint venture to run the Mattala International Airport.
 
Accordingly, India will contribute 70% and Sri Lanka 30% to the proposed joint venture.
 
The Deputy Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Ashok Abeysinghe said a final decision will be made on this proposal after it was tabled in Parliament.
