Sri Lanka was on 166 for 6 when rain stopped play at Galle. 

The home team was on 93 for 3 at lunch and lost wickets at regular intervals after the break. 

Kagiso Rabada sent back Angelo Mathews and Roshen Silva in one over. 

Niroshan Dickwella was dismissed by Shamsi for 18 before rain stopped play.

Sri Lanka reached 93 for 2 at lunch on day one of their first Test against South Africa at Galle.
 
Dimuth Karunaratne was unbeaten on 37 while Kusal Mendis was 19 not out.
 
The Galle pitch has already is creating enough turn and bounce Kagiso Rabada and Tabraiz Shamsi troubling the Sri Lankan batsmen.
 
Earlier, Dhanushka Gunatillake added 44 runs for the first wicket with Karunaratne.
 
Gunatillake made 26.
 
Incidentally, it was Sri Lanka best opening partnership since November 2016.
 
Dhananjaya de Silva made 11.
