The Lanka Self-Employed three-wheeler Operators’ Union has decided to file a court case on the recent directive by the government on taxi meters.

Recently, the government told the three-wheeler operators to fix running meters and issue a receipt to the passengers once the journey is over.

The authorities said the three-wheeler operators who do not follow this directive will be booked.

However, the three-wheeler operators are opposing this move.

The National Council for Road Safety said that police has been vested with authority to arrest the three-wheeler operators who are without meters from 10th of August.
