Parliament to take a vote on Provincial Council polls

A debate will be held in parliament on the Provincial Council Election Delimitation Committee Report will be held on 24th of August.
 
The Joint Opposition group leader Dinesh Gunawardena said that this decision was taken in the political party leaders meeting held at parliament complex today.
 
He said a vote will also be taken after a debate.
 
Meanwhile, Tamil Progressive Alliance leader, Minister, Mano Ganeshan said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa agreed to hold Provincial Council polls even under the old system.
 
Leaders of the minority parties which represent parliament had a discussion with former President Rajapaksa yesterday.
 
Tamil Progressive Alliance leader, Mano Ganeshan, SLMC Leader, Rauff Hakeem and EPDP leader Doulas Devananda participated in the discussion.
 
It was this meeting the former President had agreed to have the PC election under the old system.
