CID to former President Rajapaksa’s official residence

The CID is currently recording a statement from former president Mahinda Rajapaksa in connection with the abduction and assault of journalist, Keith Noyarh.

Five investigators led by Group Robbery Investigation Unit OIC, Nishantha Silva, and ASP, G.S. Tisera were present at the former president’s official residence on Wijerama Mawatha to obtain the statement.

Meanwhile, our correspondent stated that Joint Opposition MPs, Susil Premajayantha, SB Dissanayake, Keheliya Rambukwella, Pavitra Wanniarachchi and several provincial councils and local government members are also present at the former present’s official residence.

The former defense secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, and speaker Karu Jayasuriya also made statements to the CID with regard to this incident in the past.

Keith Noyarh was abducted and assaulted on May 19th, 2008 and was released later on May 22 on the same year. on the same year.
