The Vice Chairman of Lindula Urban Council in Talawakelle, L. Bharathidasan who was arrested earlier today over an alleged land fraud has released on bail.

The Magistrate of Nuwara Eliya, Pabuda Jayasekera ordered to call the case again on 18th of this next month.

Bharathidasan who represents Ceylon Workers' Congress was arrested following a complaint that he has forcefully acquired several plots of land in St. Clare Estate.

The complaint against the Vice Chairman noted that he had committed the fraud in the guise of distributing land to needy estate workers.
