Campaigner+against+Illicit+liquor+abducted+and+murdered+in+Ratnapura.
The person who was abducted, assaulted and murdered in Ratnapura has been identified as a former campaigner against illicit liquor brewers in the area.
 
He had launched a protest on top of a water tank in Ratnapura town recently demanding the arrest of illicit liquor racketeers in the area.
 
After being abducted, he was found along the roadside last night fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead after being admitted to Ratnapura hospital.
 
Meanwhile, police have identified a notorious racketeer and his children as being responsible for the murder.
 
A senior police officer said that the suspects fled the area following the incident.
 
The victim has been identified as a 37-year old resident of Farm Garden Watta in Ratnapura.

It was also reported that angry neighbours launched an attack on the suspects' residence.
