Central+Bank+ready+to+safeguard+the+Rupee
Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy says that if necessity arises the Central Bank will intervene aggressively to maintain the exchange rate.

However, he added that many think it is the only factor that decides the fate of the economy which is not the view elsewhere in the world.

He went on to say that some progress has been made in stabilizing the economy with the inflation rate at a target level of around six percent, and that foreign reserves increase not only quantitatively but also qualitatively as the country has received half a billion dollars in swaps.
