The Western Provincial Governor, Hemakumara Nanayakkara says that he has not received a complaint regarding the installation of an air freshener in the new building of the Western Provincial Council,  costing 16.3 million rupees

He was responding to our news teams queries regarding media reports published to that effect.

However, UPFA councillor, Sulochana Gamage stated that 875 air fresheners, each costing 18,500 rupees, have been installed in the new building.

He also said that an additional 3 thousand rupees will be spent on a monthly basis to refill them.

Earlier, governor Nanayakkara suspended a tender to import a set of chairs costing 644 thousand rupees each, for the use of Western provincial councillors.

Later, criticisms were levelled against fixing a new door at the entrance of the Western Provincial Council.
