It has been revealed that the stock of bullets which were apprehended from Siyambalanduwa - Dombagahawela has been brought from Ampara- Potuvil  area.

Police noted that the plan had been transport the stock from Siyambalanduwa to Galle.

5 individuals were arrested by the police with 2990 bullets in possession in Simbalanduwa- Dombagahawela yesterday.

Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekera noted that 2958 bullets used for T56 weapons, and 32 9mm bullets used for pistols were found.

The bullets were found in the bags of a suspect named Laddu Roshan; a resident of Hikkaduwa.

It has been revealed that the stock of bullets was to be transported from Siyambalanduwa to Galle according to a contract of Jayalath Suddha; a henchman of Kosgoda Sujee, currently serving a prison sentence in the Galle prison.

2 women and 2 children are amongst the arrested, and preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect had transported these bullets pretending to be traveling on an excursion.

Arrested Laddu Roshan, is a former seaman.

It has been revealed that he had been in contact with currently imprisoned Jayalath Suddha for over a period of time.
