Police yesterday arrested a suspect who assisted a student to answer a GCE O/L Part I paper.

The arrest was made at the examination centre at Puhulvaella Central College in Matara.

the Supervisor become suspicious of the 25-year-old suspect, and had  subsequently informed police about the individual.  

Reports state the candidate sat an examination on the previous day producing the driving licence as identification.

Yesterday the suspect sat the Mathematics paper producing his national identity card.

The student was also arrested.

Two other incidents of cheating during exams had been reported earlier.

The GCE O’ level examination which began on 3rd this month is due to end tomorrow.
