Police have discovered 20 sets of army uniforms, a stock of army caps and a motorcycle with a forged number plate from a house at Katiyawa Track 1 in Eppawala.

The house owners had told police that the army uniforms and caps belong to a soldier who was boarded in the house some time ago.

However, police have discovered that the particular soldier is currently attached to an army camp in Ratnapura and he is a member of that family in Katiyawa.

Police carried out the raid in the house following several complaints to recent house burglaries in the Ratnapura district.

Eppawala police said that Military police assistance has been sought to arrest the suspect.
