The security guard of Minister Arjuna Ranatunga who is in remand in connection with the shooting at the Petroleum Corporation head office has been further remanded until January 18th.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate, Lanka Jayarathna informed the suspect’s faction that the order with regard to the bail application will be issued on January 18th accordingly.

An unruly situation erupted when the then subject minister Arjuna Ranatunga attempted to enter the Petroleum Corporation head office on October 28th.

A 34-year old person was killed and three others were injured when Minister Ranatunga’s security guard opened fire during the commotion.
