The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna declared in Parliament today that owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Company Arjun Aloysius who has been released on bail in connection with the Treasury bond fraud, has avoided paying Rs. 50.6 million due to the Excise Department from a Distillery belonging to him.

On this occasion Member of Parliament Nalinda Jayatissa making the above statement said that an application has been made to obtain a land containing 72,000 coconut trees in Kalutara for tapping toddy for the Distillery. He also said that certain Parliamentarians and Ministers are trying to influence the Excise Department regarding this.

In response, the government said they will focus attention on any company that owes taxes and even take legal action to get the money paid.
