Eiffel Tower goes dark to honor Sri Lanka attack victims

At the stroke of midnight in Paris, the Eiffel Tower went dark to honor the more than 200 people who died in the Sri Lanka bomb attacks.

It's a move the operators of the iconic landmark often make in tribute to causes and calamities.

US Vice President Mike Pence condemned the Easter Sunday church and hotel bombings in Sri Lanka as an attack against the Christian faith and affront to religious freedom.

Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, issuing a statement on the attacks in Sri Lanka said Canada will continue to work with Sri Lanka and other international partners to combat terrorism and violent extremism and to promote greater peace and stability around the world.

The Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and the Government and People of Pakistan have also condemned the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile Real Madrid players observed a minute of silence for the victims of the blast in Sri Lanka prior to their home game against Athletic Bilbao.
