A van and a motorcycle used to carry out the Sunday’s bomb explosions were seized by the STF from a house in Warakapola.

The van and the motorcycle were seized during a raid carried out by a team of STF officers of the Kegalle Unit, led by IP Rohana Vijitha Kumara.

The van registered under SGPH-3779 and the motorcycle registered under 144-2446 had been hidden in a house on No.9, Masjeed Mawatha on Anguruwella road, Warakapola.

These two vehicles were among the ones wanted by police in connection with the Sunday bomb attacks.

Later 4 Walki-talkies were also found by the search operators.

Meanwhile, 47-year old Mohamed Junaid Mohamed Amin and another suspect were arrested from the suspected house.

Mohamed Junaid has driven this van and, it was rented for the public.

He has transported a group of Dubai tourists last two weeks and the van was booked for them by a Muslim Moulavi of Hemmathagama on April 14th.

Later, the Muslavi was also arrested. Investigations revealed that this Moulavi had close contacts with this driver.
