A petition filed by former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the Supreme Court requesting that the case in connection with the D. A. Rajapaksa Memorial Museum be prevented from being heard by the Permanent Three-Judge High Court was rejected.

This was based on a majority decision made by Supreme Court Judges Sisira De Abrew, Priyantha Jayawardena, Prasanna Jayawardena, Vijith Malalgoda and L. T. B. Dehideniya.

The former Defence Secretary had filed a petition at the Supreme Court against the lineup of allegations in this case which was being heard in the presence of the Permanent Three-Judge bench.

The Three-Judge High Court decided recently to hear the case filed by the Attorney General against seven Defendants including former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa based on several allegations including criminal misuse of Rs. 33.9 million daily from 15 October.
