Hemasiri+Fernando+and+Pujith+Jayasundera+remanded+until+23+October

Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and the Inspector General of Police who has been sent on compulsory leave, Pujith Jayasundera have been remanded until 23 October based on an order issued by the Chief Magistrate of Colombo Lanka Jayaratne.

This was with the Colombo High Court rejecting the bail order previously issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate granting bail to these two individuals.

High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi today declared the verdict in connection with the revised application submitted by the Attorney General against this order.

Accordingly, the two suspects were taken over by prison officers inside the Court and subsequently produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
