Leave for postal workers have been cancelled effective today due to the forthcoming presidential election.

Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyarathna told our news team that the gazette in this regard has already been issued.

The election commission stated yesterday that 659 thousand 514 public workers have been eligible to cast postal votes.

In addition, the postmaster general stated that dispatching official poll cards will begin on October 25th.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission stated that it has received 762 election-related complaints so far.
