SLPP Chairman Professor GL Peries said that his party candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had made a practical pledge to increase the estate workers daily wage to one thousand rupees.

He was speaking during the signing of an MoU with the Ceylon Workers Congress today.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Foundation.

Professor GL Peries signed on behalf of the SLPP while party leader Arumugam Thondaman signed on behalf of the Ceylon Workers Congress.
