All forms of campaigning related to the presidential election comes to an end at midnight today.
Elections commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya noted that until the end of the election, all political campaigning would be concluded.
The final public rally in which Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna Presidential candidate, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa would be attending is to be held in Homagama , while the final public rally of presidential candidate of the new democratic front, Sajith Premadasa is to be held in central Colombo.
Further presidential candidate of the national peoples power, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka’s final public rally will be held in Maharagama.
Voting pertaining to the presidential election will be done on the 16th of November from 7 pm to 5pm according to the elections commission.
Further, all 35 candidates contesting have been notified to appear before the elections commission tomorrow.
Candidates have been summoned to the elections commission tomorrow morning in order to discuss voting, counting of votes and issuing of election results.
If they are unable to attend, the elections commission has informed the candidate to send two authorized representatives of the particular candidate to appear before the commission.
In addition a discussion between the elections commissioner and election observers is to be held today.
