Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the 1st ODI against Sri lanka at the MCG.

 

Opener Phil Huges led the way with a superb century including 14 boundaries and Captain George Bailey also scored 89.

 

Australia posted a mammoth total of 305 for the loss of 5 wickets and David Hussey scored 60 runs in just 34 balls.

 

Nuwan Kulasekara, Anjelo Mathews, Ajantha Mendis and Lasith Malinga picked up 1 wicket each.
