Gypsy community facing hardships

The Gypsy community who are found in Sri Lanka consider Kerala State in India as their native region.

They speak Telugu language.

The Gypsy community had migrated to Sri Lanka and they have set up their initial settlement in Kumbukwewa area.

Initially, there were 50 families.

Their main source of income is to exhibit trained animals and snake charming.

Some make their living by fortune telling.

However, they complain now they found it difficult to continue their traditional way of life.
