Cricket World Cup 2015: Scotland spirit delights skipper Mommsen
Scotland skipper Preston Mommsen hailed the spirit of his players after they made New Zealand work surprisingly hard for their 3 wicket win in Dunedin.
Mommsen was one of four Scots who was out for the first ball, but Matt Machan and Richie Berrington hit fifties to help the qualifiers from 12 for 4 to 142 all out.
In an attacking chase New Zealand lost 7 wickets before sealing victory.
Mommsen said that unfortunately, they couldn't get the final 3 wickets, but he’s very proud of the performance.
Meanwhile, New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum admitted his team's rather frantic reply, thought to have been an attempt to enhance their net run-rate in the group, tarnished some outstanding bowling from the seamers.
